The Moonlight Beach tides can completely change your experience. At low tide the sand stretches wide and tide pools become exposed for exploration. At high tide the water comes closer and the waves are at their most powerful for surfing. The Tidelines Calendar includes detailed monthly tide charts so you can choose the right time for every activity.

How the Calendar Works

Each page of the calendar covers one month. You will see a table with the date running down the left side. Next to each date there are columns showing:

• High Tide Times and Heights so you know when the waves will be at their fullest.

• Low Tide Times and Heights for the best tide pooling and beach walks.

• Sunrise and Sunset times so you can catch golden hour or a peaceful early morning.

• Moonrise and Moonset times for magical moonlit moments.

• Moon Phases including full moons, new moons, and quarters so you can plan for special nights when the moon over the ocean is at its brightest.

Tide heights are measured in feet. Higher positive numbers mean more water on the beach. Lower numbers or negatives mean more sand is exposed.

How to Read It for Your Beach Day

• If you want to explore tide pools near Moonlight Beach, look for the lowest tide times, especially those with negative numbers, and plan to be there about 30 minutes before the listed time.

• If you want to surf, check for high tides that match the swell direction in the local surf report and pair it with calm or sunny weather.

• For a moonrise over the ocean, look for the moonrise time that matches a clear evening and head out about 10 minutes early to catch the moon lifting above the horizon.

• Combine sunrise or sunset times with low tide to create beautiful walks along the water’s edge.
